Where is Jose's Barber Shop?
We're at 4202 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60641 — in Portage Park, a couple of blocks north of the Six Corners intersection at Milwaukee, Irving Park and Cicero. Look for the barber pole and the logo on the window.
Do I need an appointment?
No — walk-ins are welcome six days a week. That said, booking online is the way to skip the wait, especially after school, on Saturdays and in the last couple of hours before we close.
How do I book?

What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM. Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM. Closed Sunday. Those are the hours posted on the shop door.
Are you open on Sunday?
No — Sunday is the one day we're closed. Saturday runs 10 AM to 5 PM, and those slots fill first, so book ahead if the weekend is your only window.
How much is a haircut?
A men's haircut is $50 (40 minutes). Haircut plus a hot-towel beard shave is $60, and with eyebrows it's $70 — both an hour. Haircut plus eyebrows is $60. Kids' haircuts are $50, and a line-up on its own is $40.
Do you cut kids' hair?
Yes. A kids' haircut is $50 for the same forty-minute slot as an adult cut, which is deliberate — a first haircut shouldn't be rushed. There are TVs at the stations.
Do you do beard shaves and hot-towel service?
Yes — warm lather, a hot towel, the shave or shaping, and a cooling finish. It's booked together with a haircut at $60 for the hour, or at $70 with eyebrow work added. José works with all types of beard.
What payment do you accept?
Cash is preferred, Zelle is accepted, and cards are accepted.
